August 2023 marks the 50th Anniversary of the newsstand release of the much-anticipated first meeting between DC Comics’ relatively new character, SWAMP THING, and their longtime star, BATMAN!
“Much-anticipated” because everyone, both fans and pros alike, was looking forward to how superstar artist BERNI WRIGHTSON would illustrate the Dark Knight! And he did NOT disappoint; the issue is considered the high-water mark of Wrightson’s run of ten issues!
So come to comic book historian (The Silver Age of Comic Book Art) Arlen Schumer’s SWAMP THING-BATMAN webinar, as he’ll discuss and dissect not only that issue, but the entire SWAMP THING run by Wrightson and writer/co-creator Len Wein–supplemented by background material and black & white original art–dynamically displaying its pages, panels, and covers in ways that will make you see their magnificent SWAMP THING series as if for the first time!
