Last Wednesday, July 12th, 2023 marked the exact 50th Anniversary of the newsstand release of the first comic book issue of what many comic book and pop culture aficionados consider the definitive version of one of the 20th Century’s greatest fictional characters (and a forerunner to superheroes), THE SHADOW, illustrated by one of the greatest comic book artists and illustrators of the 20th and 21st Centuries, MICHAEL WM. KALUTA–and all five of Kaluta’s 1973-4 issues were discussed and dissected!
